Practical Information for Dietetics Students

Introduction

Are you considering a career as either a Registered Dietitian or a Dietetic Technician, Registered, but don't know which designation to choose or where to begin?  If so, you're not alone!  Like you, we're both passionate about helping others achieve healthier lifestyles though nutrition, but understand the process of earning the appropriate credentials can be confusing, overwhelming, and at times, downright intimidating.  It is for this reason that we decided to create an easily understandable website that provides a clear and concise explanation of each credential, as well as information on how to pursue them.  Thank you for taking the time to explore our website--we hope you find the content both instructive, and enjoyable! 

About the Authors

Michael Frank lives in Auburn, Washington and is currently working as a personal trainer.  He holds masters degrees in human movement and business administration, undergraduate degrees in creative writing and dietetics, and an associate degree in arts.  He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Associating, as well as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  In his spare time, Mike enjoys reading, writing, learning, art, music, exercise, and being with friends and family.


Bethany Lusk lives in Golden, Colorado, and is currently working as a Patient Food Service Manager at Children's Hospital Colorado.  She holds a bachelors degree in communication and media studies from Endicott College and is a member of the Colorado Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as the Dietary Managers Association.  In her spare time, Bethany enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and pets.
